A Clinic on the Edge of Genocide
Journal of Emergency NursingVol. 44Issue 4p421–426Published in issue: July, 2018- Tim Cunningham
Cited in Scopus: 1In 1962, military leaders in Burma (now called Myanmar) devised laws that forbade granting citizenship to a minority group called the Rohingyas.1 Despite historical records that suggest Rohingyas lived in Burma even in the early 1800s during British Colonial rule,2 postcolonial governments, military juntas, and now even the proclaimed democratic state of Myanmar has refused to grant Rohingyas the right of citizenship. Too complicated to discuss in this article, the history of the Rohingyas is complex. - Clinical Nurses Forum

Journal of Emergency NursingVol. 44Issue 2p188–190Published in issue: March, 2018- William Tavares
Cited in Scopus: 8With the recent terrorist attacks in Paris and London, there are many questions being asked about the securing of so-called soft targets. Hospitals have fallen into this category, and a spotlight has been placed on preparation. What are the preparatory and training expectations of hospitals, and how will they reach the goals of responding to a large-scale event (traumatic and/or contaminated) while maintaining safety needs of patients, staff, and structure? This article discusses emergency planning, training, and response to the perceived threats that community hospitals face and includes a discussion about future needs—in view of recent events—through article reviews, policies, and procedures.
