Child passenger protection: Then and now

      Children's car seats were in use long before auto safety, as we now understand it, evolved. The Bunny Bear Company made child seats in 1933, and their 1947 catalog featured 2 different models of child safety seats. However, these devices were mainly intended to provide support, restrict the child's movement, and raise the child up for better visibility, as well as to minimize driver distraction by the child.
