Course information 

CECH information 

You will receive Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) for each course you attend. Based on the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN®) criteria for categorization of continuing education offerings that may be applied toward CEN® renewal, all courses presented meet BCEN's category of “Other” and are indicated by the “O” at the end of each course number.

You may earn more than 17 CECH at ENA Leadership Challenge 2004.The CECH awarded is shown for each course listed. You may also earn additional CECH by attending the presessions, exhibitor-sponsored Luncheon Sessions, and by visiting the research and management poster presentations.

ENA is recognized as a provider and approver of continuing education. ENA's standards meet the required criteria for most State Boards of Nursing. Alabama Continuing Education Provider #ABNP0026. California Continuing Education Provider CEP 2322.West Virginia Continuing Education Provider number #WV2002-0426RN.

Course content 

ENA strives to provide educational opportunities that reflect various aspects and opinions of an issue to help nurses make informed decisions about pertinent issues affecting emergency nursing. Comments, opinions and/or recommendations expressed by the faculty in ENA programs or by authors of printed and/or visual materials distributed as part of ENA programs are not necessarily reviewed by or endorsed by the Association. Course sponsorship does not imply endorsement of a specific company or product by the faculty or ENA. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, there may be changes in faculty and program content.

Course selection 

Non-fee courses are available on a first-come, firstserved basis onsite; if you have a “must attend” session, please arrive in the course room early to get a seat.

Research and management poster presentations 

Research and management project posters will be on display during Leadership Challenge 2004.Take advantage of this opportunity to review current studies on relevant emergency nursing topics. The researchers will be present to discuss their studies at specified times that will be listed in the ENA Leadership Challenge 2004 Program. Each poster offers CECH credit.

Presessions 

New! key concepts in emergency department management (wednesday/thursday) 

A One and One-half Day Session - Earn up to 13.2 Additional CECH

Attendance at this presession requires separate registration and a fee of $175.The session will be held in three parts:Wednesday, February 25, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm; and Thursday, February 26, from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. You must attend all three parts to earn CECH credit.

Thursday half-day presessions 

Earn up to 6.8 Additional CECH and Save $35 When You Register for Two Half-day Presessions

Half-day presessions will be available on Thursday, February 26. Each half-day presession offers 3.4 CECH and requires separate registration and a fee of $80. However, if you register for two half-day presessions, your total fee will be just $125, for a savings of $35! Choose from the following three topics:

Developing the Perfect ED Charge Master (offered as both a morning and an afternoon session);

Rounding Up Your Department's Image: Branding for Excellence (morning session only); and

The New Nurse Manager and the Three ps: People, projects, priorities (afternoon session only).

Advanced level courses 

Several courses in this Leadership Challenge 2004 program have been designed specifically for seasoned, experienced nurse managers. Advanced level courses are available at certain times during each day; you will find these sessions marked as an “Advanced Level Course” and contained in a shaded box for ease of identification.

The key to financial success in the emergency department is to have a charge master that incorporates all billable procedures performed in the ED. This course evaluates the detailed information required to develop and maintain the optimal charge master. This interactive workshop allows you to evaluate your own current charge master in detail. Visit ENA's Web site at www.ena.org and follow the links to our online registration form. To avoid delays in processing, be sure to include your credit card information prior to submitting your form.

Registration by fax or mail 

The ENA Leadership Challenge 2004 Registration Form is two pages long, front and back. To avoid delays in processing your registration, please type or print clearly, complete and submit both pages and include payment information. Use a separate form for each registrant; you may photocopy the form if necessary.

You must be a current member of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) to be eligible for member fees.

Presession registration and fees 

Four presessions are available. One presession - Key Concepts in Emergency Department Management - is a one and one-half day presession and offers a total of 13.2 CECH. The other three are half-day presessions and offer 3.4 CECH per course. If you register for two half-day presessions, you pay only $125, for a savings of $35! Certain presessions are limited to 100 registrants.

Guest registration and fees 

Guests may accompany a one- or three-day registrant.

Guests may not be ENA members. Guests are entitled to admission to the Exhibit Hall and Special Events. Due to space limitations, guests will not be admitted to educational sessions.

Payment information 

A check or money order payable in US funds to ENA or a credit card authorization (VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express) must accompany your registration form. Registration forms received without a method of payment will not be processed.

Cancellations and refunds 

All cancellations must be made in writing and sent to ENA Meeting Services, 915 Lee Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016- 6569. Cancellations postmarked by January 31, 2004, will be refunded less a $50 processing fee. NO REFUND REQUESTS WILL BE HONORED AFTER THIS DATE. In the event you are unable to attend the meeting, your registration is transferable. Please notify the ENA Registration Bureau in writing with the name of the person taking your place.

Americans with disabilities act 

If you require special materials or services as covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act, please advise ENA Meeting Services, 915 Lee Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016-6569. Notice must be received in writing and postmarked by January 31, 2004.
